For Mum
Appreciation post
I need to write about a really wonderful experience which happened to me the other week. A very wise friend and colleague of mine (wise: consistently dedicated to the development of their self-awareness and their relationships) asked me, “how often do you tell the people in your life that you appreciate them?”
This thought process led to this friend writing small cards for the people in his life to tell them just that - that he appreciates them. I was lucky enough to receive one of these cards and it made my day, and I’ve been thinking about it a lot since then.
This lovely gesture coincides with a very VERY important day approaching - this Sunday, the 14th of April. Not sure why it’s so important? You should. It’s my Mum’s birthday. Put it in the diary.
Trouble is, I live on the other side of the world to my Mum.
God, how I would love to spend Sunday sitting opposite her, drinking copious amounts of tea, talking about life, (and the people in our lives) art, gardening, …
